Travel Grant Full-time Undergraduate, Northern Ireland Students
3. How much can I get?
The amount of grant you can get depends on your course
Only eligible courses or placements can get a Travel Grant, the only way to know how much you can get is to apply.
You must pay the first £309 of your travel costs. Always keep your travel costs as low as possible without being impractical.
You'll be asked to submit your household income information
As part of your application you'll be asked to give your household income information. Depending on your circumstances your partner may also need to provide their income information. We'll tell you who needs to provide this information and how they can do it.
Studying abroad or on ERASMUS+, Turing Scheme or Taith placement
You can apply for:
- up to 3 return journeys between your home and the overseas institution or placement during a full academic year abroad
- help with essential travel expenses, medical insurance and travel visas
You may be able to apply for your children’s travel costs if you’re a single parent.
You cannot apply for more than one of these grants to cover the same expenses.
Medical or dental students doing a clinical placement in the UK
You can apply for travel costs between your home and the hospital or facility where you’re doing your placement.
