Childcare Grant Full-time Undergraduate, Northern Ireland Students
1. What is it?
It's a grant to help pay towards the costs of childcare while you're studying
Income-related unemployment and housing benefits are not affected by a Childcare Grant. It's paid to you so you can pay your childcare provider.
You can apply for a Childcare Grant alongside any other available finance as part of your student finance application each year.
The quickest way to apply is to sign into your student finance account.
Does it need to be paid back?
No - Childcare grants do not need to be repaid, unless you're overpaid or leave your course early.
As part of your student finance agreement, you must keep us up to date with any changes to your course or personal details as these can affect your funding including how much you have to repay and when.
