Special Support Grant Full-time undergraduate, tuition fee and living cost students

1. What is it?

It's a grant to help with day to day costs while you study

A Special Support Grant may be available if your household income is below £41,065 in certain circumstances, or if you are eligible for certain qualifying benefits. It's paid directly to you.

You can apply for a Special Support Grant on its own or alongside any other available finance as part of your student finance application each year.

The quickest to apply is to sign into your student finance account (opens in a new tab)

Does it need to be paid back?

No - A Special Support Grant does not need to be repaid, unless a reassessment of household income occurs or you leave your course early, both of which may result in an overpayment.

As part of your student finance agreement, you must keep us up to date with any changes to your course or personal details as these can affect your funding.
